Trunk water

Anyone know what causes the trunk lid to retain h20 and dump it when lifted? Is there a drain that could be clogged somewhere?

My Integra holds some water around the seal that all comes in when you open the hatch.....posibbly if there are gaskets under your wing otherwise the only other thing that I can think of would be to make sure the weaterstripping is good.

Maybe someone without a spoiler would share if theirs does this or not.

No spoiler here, and no such problem. Beads of water standing on the trunk lid do create quite a cascade when it's opened.

Interesting. I have previously replaced my spoiler gaskets and I do have water getting inside the trunk lid as well.

After I wash my car I dry everything with a chamois and when I go to put it in the trunk water still comes out of the lid.

The only time I found water in my trunk (Mind you I have a wing)
was after the Huricane Rain's... about a good 1/2 inch at the bottom where the spare tire was?!?!?!?!
But the carpet was dry?!?!?!?!??!

Dont ask me... i still dont know how that happened.... but it did..
and the next day.. it was dry! who knows!

We're not referring to water in the trunk itself...just the trunk lid.

it could be from little beads of water getting stuck on the bottem of the spoiler were you cant see it and so when you open it, it runs down...for some reasoni cant get all of the water out from under my wing also...i clean it under there and there is always water spots underneath....dont know were the water comes from maybe condensation or some bs like that

Mine does that only if it's been sitting out in the rain for a while before. Everything else will have dried off but I open the trunk and get a shower. It did that but to a lesser extent before I had a spoiler.

Anyone ever disassemble a trunk? are there limber holes that drain out water that sneaks inside?

I have water in trunk problems

Well my car has been sitting for a month and during that month we got alot of rain. When I finally opened the trunk There was probably 3 gallons of water in the spare tire area(what a mess) but the carpet was dry! Im tired of that. Fortunately there are drain plugs inside the trunk so I was able to drain all that water easily. I really need to find out how to Stop this.
