I saw that you guys got the Atlas 2 up. Good job.

Because I haven't had much excitement since Joining the Marines... I want to be challenged again... I want to go through some hard times. Times where I am drenched with water and having to stand duty outside with my weapon while trees are getting blown away.... Why??? No clue... Just tired of not doing much of anything here in my office

Not to mention it's ALOT different when you don't have to worry about your house getting destroyed and I'm sure the base has pleanty of water and generators on standbuy. Does sound like fun

As for all you living down in hurricane alley ,good luck. If it was me I'd move

And for the twister chasers: In the new Petersons Off-road mag there is a very short mention of a guy who built a truck to drive through the middle of a tornado. For research purposes ofcourse. And he has already used it.

i hope this one actually hits here. I was dissapointed with Charlie. I highly doubt that it's going to hit here though. My parents are stuck out in the caribean on a cruise for 3 extra days (poor them ) because they won't be able to dock until at least monday, so the hurricane had already done some good!!

Note: VERY SMALL MENTION and a bad pick of the front of the truck. You would probly find more info searching online.

Also, One of the two Black GM motorhomes used in the movie "Twister" is at my shop.

Note: You only see one in the movie but they had two made.

Atlas launch

Lee,

Thought you would like to see the stir your Atlas launch created. I remember seeing a launch at the Cape from St. Petersburg....clear across the state....back in the '60's.

http://www.space.com/spacewatch/myst...ud_040901.html

I posted this on another thread, but I don't think Solar caught it....Jean and I are praying for the best for you guys. Looks like it is finally coming ashore south of you Lee, but it may run right over Orlando and Solar later. The darn thing is moving so slowly, it looks like rain will be the major thing inland. Hang in there!

Don and Jean

If you still have power and can read this...

Greg Forbes at the Weather Channel just reported ( 8PM ) a nasty band of weather heading ashore just south of the Kennedy Space Center.....that would be you Lee. I take it that you decided not to leave, so seek shelter in a center room because they just mentioned tornados and, believe it or not, HAIL! Hurricane force hail? I don't want to think about it. God bless you all...

With power out, and phone lines and cable down, it may be awhile before we know about how our Florida friends have weathered the storm.

I think Lee's area got hit the hardest.

In our thoughts and prayers guys...

Hello Don and Jean

Long time no see.

Sorry to hear Lee's home area is taking a pounding. Lee, take care of yourself and family, and I hope you have that nice bike well covered and protected too. And of course keep the hail off the SVX!

Florida is getting a lot of bad weather this year. Over here we are normally envious of the amount of heat and sunshine the state gets, but I suppose there is always a downside.

Keep safe everybody.
