Help!- car won't run intermittantly

Yesterday, I gassed up the SVreX, changed the plugs, took it for a test drive (drove hard, but only for a couple of miles). The engine cut off (while driving) and would not restart- coughed, sputtered, backfired. I towed it home, let it cool down for a couple of hours (with the battery disconnected), and it restarted fine. Drove it around the block- no problem. Turned it off, let it sit a few minutes, then again it would not restart. I disconnected the battery again, let it cool overnight, it ran fine this morning for a couple of miles. Again, after sitting for a few minutes, it wouldn't restart.

Any opinions? ECU? Plugs? Bad load of gas? Something else new and exciting?

The plugs were Bosch Platinum 4201 (not the best, I know). The fuel was Shell 93 octane with octane booster (we've been using the 93+octane booster for a while- first time with Shell).

Keep in mind that the SVreX is not your typical SVX. There are lots of things about this car that the ECU wouldn't like. The air bag system is gone, the intake has been modified, there is minimal back pressure in the exhaust (read- no cats), lots of sensors are gone (like air bag sensors and seat belt sensors, and at least 1 O2 sensor), we use nitrous, etc. etc.

Maybe she just didn't like my driving!

FOUND IT!

It was the cam angle sensor.

Horrible symptoms, easy fix.

Yep...That's it... I had the same problem with mine but alot worse than the symptoms that you listed....Oh yeah..there's 3 sensors on the SVX 2 Crank and 1 Cam. One of the crank sensors is the same as the cam sensor....Just thought you'd like to know that.
