Dayle,
Does the JDM spoiler use the same mounting holes as the OE spoiler?
-Bill (agreeing fully with Mike's comment re: over enthusiastic comments )

depending on how much the mold cost me....
not by enthusiasm
As for the mounting holes, if you open your hatch/trunk
lid, you can see a "Dimple" a few inches away from the
stock bolt, thats there is for the Japanese cars.
You drill that out with about a 3/8s bit ( whatever size
hole the other OE is) and your done.

Dayle,
Thanks for the response on the wing! Two other questions:
1. Will the center panel just "plug'n'play" ? looks like at least one of its connectors has been hacked off
2. What's special about the mirrors?
Thanks.

The JDM spoiler looks pretty cool indeed. I'm still longing for the spoiler the original 1989 prototype had on it though. Yeah I know it was one-piece with the trunk, but something with the same dimensions that just bolted on would probably do.

Since you are into making molds and what not now, would it be a big step up in difficulty to fabricate something based off of the stock wing maybe?

In looking at the prototype and the stock U.S. wing side by side, you could come pretty close by just taking the stock wing and adding more material to the bottom of it, which would raise it maybe another inch and just extend the front edge all the way to the front and back edges of the trunk. To take it one step farther, if there was a source to get the LED brakelights cheap, you could put a hole in the bottom edge of the wing for the mold and mount a brake light there just like the prototype (and even the cheapest of aftermarket wings nowadays). The buyer could then just disconnect their stock 3rd brakelight and plug the spoiler one in instead.

We can donate a used LED brakelight from a current model legacy spoiler if someone is going to be making a mold.

making a mold of an original unit is much easier then
starting from scratch or making an Original for a mold.
One thing I was thinking about was, the stock US rear
wing, but with an SS Camaro style Lip on the top edge
of it would be maybe possible, and look pretty cool.
