Question

I bought my car with the cone filter already installed. Today I looked and there is one hose that isn't connected to anything. It's the hose that is connected to the bottom of the black canister on the passanger front side (by the headlight). I was having problems with high idle and I thought that this might be part of the problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

Lightbulb Charcoal canister

That canister is just to absorber excess fuel fumes and recycle them back into the engine. The hose directly on the bottom is just a vent. The should be a little plastic fitting on the end of it that gets plugged into a hole in the frame right next to it. If the fitting is missing it should not hurt anything, I guess it just goes into the frame so incase any raw gas would would come out it would not go into the engine compartment.

Thanks. I guess my idle problem is going to be harder to find then this. And I thought it was going to be easy...
