Coil Seal part number
I need the part number for the seals that seal the coils to the spark plugs. I cannot find it anywhere on subaruparts.com.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Re: Coil Seal part number
Did you try searching? I think there was a thread about this a few months back. If I'm not mistaken you have to buy the whole coil to get the seal. Someone was trying to use a non SVX seal, good luck.

Re: Coil Seal part number
I have no reason to believe that my coils are bad, or going bad...so replacing them for such a small seal is ridiculous. Anyone have a full set of coils they can let go for a decent price? I guess after all the money put into my engine I could always go the extra mile with new coils. They are an easily replaced part though so I figured I would put it off until I had good reason to change them.
If anyone has a solution to this I am all ears. Couple ideas (which are sure to have already been looked into) EJ22 coil seals? probably same situation as ours though. Benebob posted a while back with a link to a gasket/seal manufacturing website, so maybe I will track that down and send them a seal and have them make like 30 of them. Anyone else interested in this? I will search for that thread and get a hold of the guy who owns the website.

Re: Coil Seal part number
If they can do it, let me know and I can help you do a group buy or something.

Re: Coil Seal part number
Sounds good Earl. I will keep this thread updated. I E-mailed them, so I will let you know when I hear back from them. I imagine your collection could use a few of these things, mine tore apart on me pretty easily.

Re: Coil Seal part number
"looks easy enough if it is about the size of a spark plug boot something that size would run $140 to make the mold and $14 each part"
I could really use these, and I know others could as well. If 5 people wanted a full set (6) then the cost per person would be 112 bucks. A little steep but it is still cheaper than buying new coils. I think I will start a new thread in the group buy section when i get a chance.

Re: Coil Seal part number
I had to replace one of mine when i changed plugs. The little bugger was stuck and I needed a pick to get it out. Subeparts has them I think around 10.00/ea. bought 2 just in case.

Re: Coil Seal part number
I went to carter subarus parts department yesterday and they showed me the same picture from subaru-parts.com, except it had the part number for the seals. I will post the part number later, as I left it in the car yesterday.
Kind of off topic, but I test drove a Mazda speed6 yesterday...very, very, very, very fun car to drive.

Re: Coil Seal part number
22489AA030.
That is the part number for the individual seals. I hope many people find this useful. Cost me 72 bucks for all 6 from subaruparts.com
