WTB: Power seat switch
So I went out the other day to clean out my car. As I was getting ready to clean out from under the driver's seat, I went to move it forward. It moved about 1/4" and then stopped. I can't hear anything when the switch is pushed forward, backward, up, or down, so I'm guessing I need a new switch. The reclining switch works just fine.
I had read other threads about this problem, although in those instances the window and sunroof were affected (not in my case). If anyone has one, let me know. Thanks!

Re: WTB: Power seat switch
I have run into a similar problem and there was a quarter wedged in the track. I would check the seat rails first. You may need to remove the seat from the car, but this can be done fairly easy, just take your time to prevent stripping the bolts.

Re: WTB: Power seat switch
Yeah, I had reached my hand under the seat and felt around for anything that was disconnected, and I looked at the tracks to see if there was anything in them (at least from what I could see). If there was something wedged, wouldn't I still hear the motor trying to engage?

Re: WTB: Power seat switch
Ok, I'll take out the driver's seat when I get home.

Re: WTB: Power seat switch
You will need a small pry tool to remove the plastic bolt covers, and a 14mm socket.

Re: WTB: Power seat switch
I agree with the other Mike. I think you have something wedged in there that you can't see. In all these years, i've never seen one of those switches go bad.

Re: WTB: Power seat switch
I took the side panel off the driver's seat, unplugged the switch to check the contacts (they all looked good). When I plugged it back in, the seat started to move again, but then stopped. So it's either something is wedged down in there or I have a short somewhere. I did notice that the switch connected into a little black box that is mounted to the side of the drivers seat. On the bottom of that little black box is a switch that can move forward and backward. Anyone know what that is?
