WTB: Bad Headlight Bulb Pair

Guys,
I am trying to adapt a set of HIDs to the beast.

My goal is to do a clean and easily reversible install, therefore I'll need a handful of bad headlights so that I may take the plastic "twist portion" from them and adapt it to the HID bulbs to allow me to twist them in like stock ones.

Have you recently replaced your bad bulbs? Even if you have a single bad one, I'd love to pay s/h to have it/them...!

Thank you in advance, please let me know.

-Walter

Re: WTB: Bad Headlight Bulb Pair

My HID setup seems pretty easily reversible to me...? The bulb had the stock fitting and locks right in to the headlight, the ballast connect to the stock wiring, and there are a couple screws holding the ballast in place. I could have mine back to halogen bulbs in 5 minutes.

Re: WTB: Bad Headlight Bulb Pair

You purchased a kit specifically made for the SVX, correct?

I am trying to fit an HID kit from an Infiniti G35. I am planning on cleanly cutting the two extremities from bad SVX bulbs so that all I am left with is the screw-in section and gasket. I will then dremel out the inside of the plastic piece so that I can insert the HID bulb in it. Once fitting is satisfactory, I will glue the HID bulb to this new "adapter" and make it a screw-in affair.

If you can think of any easier way to do this, by all means let me know. My main goal is to keep it clean and reversible.

Thanks!

-Walter

Why do you want to use the Infinite kit?

Just head to Wally world and pick up the cheapest set of 9006 bulbs. Shouldn't be more than $10 bucks for both. Shipping for a pair is gonna be about $5 or so anyway.

Re: WTB: Bad Headlight Bulb Pair

why waste your time doing this. just sell the infinty kit and buy any 9006 or 9005 kit depending if you want lows or highs. they will fit the svx and they are incredibley easy to install.

Re: WTB: Bad Headlight Bulb Pair

Nate: I don't know, but for some reason I hate the idea of breaking a perfectly good set of bulbs. I guess living in Europe for ~20 years molded me into being less prone to waste.

Keoni: It's not as hard as it may seem. The hardest parts seems to get a set of bad bulbs.

I'm not one to waste either, I have 1 bad bulb that I still haven't even taken out yet(been either raining or near 0 temps lately) You can have it for price of shipping obviously. You're just needing the plastic part that connects, correct?

Edit: found another bad one. Any clue on what to put these in for shipping that would be the cheapest?
