Looking for a MAF

Hi there,

i am a very happy new owner of that special nice car and its equipped with a Venturi LPG system: I had some Backfire problems and it smashed my MAF. Now I am looking for that part, hope anyone can ship it to Germany and its the same part that is installed in my 95 german version. Any answers would be welcome! In german it is "Luftmengenmesser" so I think MAF is the right word.

greets from germany

Hi Racecube.

You say your car is Black over Red. What is the colour code for your red?

Is this your car?:

One of our Canadian members was based in Germany and took photos of a gas powered car. Nice colour.

Did you price a new MAF locally? They are available second hand from the USA for about $100, but you will have to pay a lot of import tax on parts coming from the USA, which is outside of the EU.

You will also find that the MAF from an Impreza turbo[94-98] from a scrap yard will work in your car if you can find a decent looking one.

Yes, this is my car. I thought the one who took the Photo was the former owner and was at the svx-net as well. There has changed a lot with scrap yards in germany in the past 5-10 years. They are all high priced recycling economists. When they get a car, they have to divide in any useful parts and the rest goes directly to metal recycling. Oil, Brake fluids and so on have to be disposed. So you can find any motor parts from comon cars (VW, Opel, BMW, Mercedes, comon french/italian/japanese) directly from stock, but you won't find any rare cars, especially not for pulling the parts yourself out of a whole wreck. Its really sad, I had good times on scrap yards...

Thumbs up

Well, everybody [including me] on here thinks that is a wonderful colour for the SVX, one of the best.

Have you tried cleaning your MAF? We have a very detailed document. If you are anyway useful with a soldering iron you can fix it up like new.

Have a look here: http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/How-To/41607.pdf

It is worth a try, as it may be perfect when cleaned up and refurbished.

Hi, thx for the advice but my MAF can't be repaired: When you get Backfire by a LPG System it blows the lit of the air intake box away, all 4 latches are bowed and it makes a noise like smith and wesson....first I thought my axle was broken, now I know better

sorry for bad english

OK understood.

I know a guy breaking a car in Scotland. I'll check if he has a MAF for you.

yes, you are corrct... and there are more photos of your car in my old locker as well.

As for the MAF. I have a good MAF I'm looking to unload... don't know if you use the same one, but if you tell us the number on it we can tell. I do know it costs a bit to ship to germany, but if you want it anyway...

Here are the all numbers that I can find on my MAF:

22680 AA 200
A36 601 R62
1905 B

Blue Label

please tell me a price without shipping, I will look for a cheap transfer to Germany. B.t.w.: From where?

Any other offers are welcome!

Have you tried these guys Weiland-Auto in Eichenau??

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-SVX-92-...QQcmdZViewItem

It looks like they have exactly what you need. €160 is a little bit high in price, but you get the airbox as well.

This is not a bad deal if the Luftmassenmesser is working OK.

This is a rare car!! You take the parts from where you can get them!

Those guys at Weiland ARE mega expensive, but that MAF price is closer to reasonable than most of their other offerings.

[Currently I'm getting a steering rack from a member in New Zealand!]

I'll check the lad in Scotland for you tonight, but don't forget Speedklix, Mike offered you one as well. If the price was good you may still get a good deal from the States.
