Speedo Issues

Hello all..yes its the rookie again asking questions -lol-
So after i got mine....i noticed upon sports shifting (starting in 1st) and going through the gears....that on some accasions my speedo isn't working (says my speed is 0) and my miles arn't clicking (yeah not good ..who knows how many miles are truley on it) ..but it only does it for a few miles....then it kicks in... any ideas? is this cuasing any damage other than unknown true milage?

Phil, further to our speedsensor discussion, I check the diagram that Randy posted in this thread. The page that shows the front diff, in the US book, shows the speedo drive gear. I found the same page in the 92 Aust book, it shows the same diagram on the left, no speedo gear, and no diagram on the right of the page.

I think this is fairley conclusive, that the Aust mod never had the sensor in the front diff.

Harvey.

I believe you. I wonder whether it's a JDM specific difference (perhaps because of the 180 limiter regulations) or whether it's just because our car and Tony's are circa late 91. They certainly made a few little changes during the early days. Tony's car is only a couple of hundred serial numbers older than ours but has a different arrangement of A/C piping (both are R12).

I guess UK models are more like the Aussie than the JDM.

Phil.
