UPDATE ---------- UPDATE ---------- UPDATE ---------- UPDATE ----------
Well it seems I found the problem!!! You might not believe this but it looks like my window/sunroof problem was part of this... I looked at the Window relay just in case and I found it completely corroded... It seems hard to believe but everything is working now.... I need a new bettery though!

Ouch!
A fair amount of water must have found its way into that relay!! Where is that relay located? Jason.

This power window relay is "cleverly" located under the driver's seat!
I guess the you guys in warm climates will never have a problem with this relay, but Canadians and particularly in Quebec where a lot of salt is used on the roads in winter, this could eventually happen to you. Luckily, any regular 12V NO relay will do if you don't want to pay/wait for OEM. Thanks everyone for your help/comments/humor... Joe 90

And that corroded piece of metal would not let your SVX shut off? Any idea why?

That's a real mystery.... I seems like current found it's way from the "corroded/near shorted" relay to supply the engine's components?? Sounds hard to believe... I'll replace the relay this afternoon and confirm the results.

yep, That was it!
I can't explain it, but I replaced the power window relay with a BOSCH unit ($8) and everything is back to normal.....

I just love a happy ending - and an eight dollar fix is a happy ending indeed for the SVX
