I've just fallen in love with the SVX

I BOUGHT MY 92 LSl very clean SVX last month near Toronto, Ontario (I'm a canuck too) for $8000 CDN. Great condition, orig. paint, 75000 miles, only 2 canadian winters, new michelins (yech, but they were new) 9 month old rebuilt tranny by AAMCO with warranty.

Dont pay so much just because there aren't a lot in the area, you can often convince sellers to drive up from states, or drive down to get one, it could end up saving you a couple thou.

I own a VW/Audi/ Subaru repair shop and have a fast lube
"OIL CHANGERS" biz on the same site and we are a Castrol dealer too.

I bought my SVX with 128K miles and immediately converted it to Mobil 1. Five thousand miles later and now running the above business, I switched to castrol SYNTEC 5w-40 for 2 thousand miles. Recently I changed the filter again and started using Bardahl 5w-40 a synthetic in the same category (4) as Mobil 1: I just get a better price at wholesale.

Upshot: NO A SINGLE OIL LEAK!!!!! In fact a small oil leak present when I bought the car has STOPPED!!!!

I tell customers the leak story too but I sure have NOT SEEN IT AT ALL!!! Maybe its an old wives tale after all.

Anyway, I use FRAM doubleguard filters and the Bardahl 5w-40 and my oil is clear, clean and the car runs like a dream.....perfect
