Hesitiation

Hi Guys,

I have just entered the world of SVX by buying a '92 Touring edition.

My wife saw it and fell in love with it!

My problem is that stop signs, with the brake depressed - the car starts shaking and at low revs (approx 1500 - 2000) the engine hesitates, probaley the same thing.

It sounds like it is running rough at low revs.

I'm planning on changing the Air filter, PVC valve, oil filter and new plugs.

Is there anything else I should consider replacing?
And

Are there any ideas about the rough idle? I would also like to clean the fuel injectors and throttle body? Any body got a "How-To"?

Sorry about ther length of this message - I just want to get as much possible done for the weekend!

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark welcome to the board. Sounds. like the throttle body does need cleaning, especially the idle control unit that adjusts the idle speed to suit loads.
If the engine only shake when the brake pedal is pressed, you could have an vacuum leak at the brake booster.

Look in the locker called 'how to' you will find the info there.

Harvey.

Hi Harvey,

Thanks for the reply,

You kind of did answer my question as I have another problem but did not mention it , my brake fluid is all over the engine!

I just thought I'd have to replace the seal between the P/S oil tank and the pump. I didn't think that it could cause a vacume leak too. (I'm origionally from the UK and our cars don't use vacume as much).

I'll do the work and see what happens.

Cheers

Mark

Welcome to the board. If you change the O ring and still have a leak, there is another thing that needs to be fixed. It is 3 O rings in the fitting that goes into the PS Pump or the little O ring that is on the end of the hard pressure line that goes to the steering. Good luck.

Hello agin,

In my last post I go on about the stearing fluid, got confused between that and the brake fluid - can a fluid leak in the P/S give me a vacume leak? Possibly getting worse when the brakes are applied - using up more of the vacume? (I don't know any thing about vacume!)

Cheers

And also,

I had a look for that "How to" for cleaning the throttle body but could not find it, anybody got a copy?

Cheers again

Mark
