Yikes! That's horrible.

On the way to work, yesterday, I came across a brand new Dodge Dakota laying in a ditch (drivers door toward the heavens) and a (of all things) yellow, Chevy Cavalier that had left the roadway, went down a ditch and was resting about 50 yards into a field. That was about 3 minutes along my route. Just around the next curve, a pickup truck was headed in my direction with his emergency flashers on. As I rounded the curve, traffic had been stopped. They were clearing away a wreck. I waited for fifteen minutes, then, traffic began to move slowly as the silver (late model) Pontiac Grand Am came past me hanging from the back of the wrecker. The nose was completely gone and the driver's side door was pushed half way to the passenger's side. I'd have to say it didn't look good (never heard anything about the accident, though). As traffic moved, you could see the white . . . can't remember what kind of car . . . that had hit the Grand Am. Wasn't in as bad of shape, but, no driver around. Guess they were both on their way to the hospital before I got there. This his was within about the first five miles of my 40 mile commute to work. Needless to say, I picked up my cell phone, called the office and told them I'd be working at home. I then turned around and drove the five miles back to the house.

I hope no one was seriously hurt in the pile-up. I'll catch the details on CNN.

I've seen lots of accidents here also. An early model sedan that had flipped upside down. The thing is though, the roads weren't that bad. You'd think that living in Colorado would teach one not to hall ass on icy/snowy roads. I've also seen lots of cars in funny positions in the ditch along the main highway I travel on.

When I first read this, earlier this afternoon, I turned on CNN also.
At the time, they said it started when someone drove into the back of (under) a semi. They also said only one died, which of course is one too many, but from the looks of the aerial photo...that only one died was no minor miracle. What a scary mess... Don

Don't forget the pileup in WI a couple of months ago.

The worst accident I've seen was about a year ago and from the looks of it, it was a small sedan that somehow hit a pickup and with that much blood around in that small car, I don't think anyone survived.

Another was during last thanks giving where a Rendevouz was seen upside down and I stopped and gave a hand to the 5 cars that were involved.
