Smile not-so-cold seats

Purchased a wool sheepskin seat cover from Costco, cant remember the brand off the top of my head, but it might be one of the greatest things I've ever added to my svx. No more cold leather in these negative temps!

not the greatest picture but you get the idea..

It's like sitting on a warm fluffy dog...not that I know what that feels like or anything

Re: not-so-cold seats

haha how cold is your area there?

right here the coldest is only 5 below 0 F.

how much you pay for it? sure looks comfy and warm.

have you ever seen the portable heated seat cover at the
auto part store? I saw a few of them, they have the heating
function and different pattern massage and taking power
from your 12v outlet for around twenty dollars, only.

it's not that cold here....so i didn't get it.

If I ever re-upholster my seats... they are getting heaters. I like them in my Legacy, but the wife LOVES them.

I live near Tiv0, and it got below zero the other night. And this isn't even the depths of winter... January and February might get colder. It can reach the double-digits below zero (not counting wind chill, which only effects rate of cooling, not ambient temp.)

I am thinking about getting seat covers for my shredded leather... but I was thinking about something a bit more form fitting to the seat. But I may check out the fluffy dog covers.

But I am starting to wonder if my formerly Cali-resident car needs a battery warmer, and a block heater, too...

As BoxerFanatic mentioned the temps reach the low negatives (or is it high negatives??) but more cold is to be expected.

I wanna say the cost was somewhere around the $50 mark for two covers, I wasn't the one who purchased them. The other one is on the bmw. I'll let my passengers suffer

Have not heard of that heated cover, wonder how well it works.

Re: not-so-cold seats

boxer, just wanted to mention when i had a block heater in my van it played havoc with my idle. when i could get it to idle. the coolant temp sensor was reading higher than ambient and it was telling the ecu it didn't need high idle at startup(or richer mix) i could only leave it (heater) on 30/45 minutes tops in the morning so i finally gave up using it. it had me going for a while though! hope that won't be the case with the svx if you get one installed.

Re: not-so-cold seats

Weak.

We had seen a week of consistent 10 below zero weather with windchills near 30 below zero. The SVX has started without fail thus far though. It makes me thankful for my cloth seats.
