Thought I had nail in my tire...

...but they said my rim was cracked?
How in the hell? I don't remember hitting anything overly hard or anything but alas. It led me to a quick CL search and I found some sweet Momo Winters for the song of $200 new for the entire set. (oppose to the $450ish I would have spent at Discount Tire)

I couldn't pass them up and I know a lot of people hate the Murano style/looking rims but I think they are really nice, else... I wouldn't have gotten them

My Yokohama Avids snugs tightly to them
(yes, the SVX needs a bath, I know!)

compared to what I had on before:

P.S. - this ruled out the rims as reasoning to why I get vibration. I get my new P/S pump from Eric sometime this coming week so I'm hoping maybe it's tug/pull from that but I'm guessing that isn't going to be it either.

I really hate the thought of a bad bearing causing it but wouldn't I hear noise in the front? I used to carry my wallet around but now I just leave it in the car since she likes it so much.... *****.

Re: Thought I had nail in my tire...

Are you using proper hub rings? A lack of those could cause a vibration.

Re: Thought I had nail in my tire...

The new wheels looks far better than the previous ones.

PS: Wash your car.

Your SVX needs to be washed. That would cause vibration at speed!

Hub-centric rings to center those aftermarket rims on the hubs.
You see, aftermarket rim makers will make the clearance in the rim nice and loose so it will fit a wide variety of vehicles (Especially on those rims that have dual bolt patterns)

Obviously, if your rims are not centered perfectly on the hubs, you will get an eccentric effect and vibration at speed.

Take a look at this listing and the pictures, it will be clear:

Exactly what he said!

This shows a proper hub ring on my RX8 wheels to make them the correct centerbore for my SVX.

Re: Thought I had nail in my tire...

You guys are awesome. I'm betting that's what it is with these wheels just like the last aftermarket wheels that were on it. Hopefully this will take care of it and since they are pretty cheap, why not.

Thanks, I would have never known.
