13 years old... 15,386 miles.

Haven't been on this site for quite awhile, so excuse me for potentially posting this in the wrong place. I couldn't find the photo gallery! Figured you guys still might want to see her.

About 2ish months ago I took the time to do the yearly detail on the SVX. Paint correction was completed last year, so that won't need to be done again for quite some time.

Still looks brand new for a 1996! Yeah, yeah, I know, the low miles did most of the work haha. I'm really most pleased about the plastic bumpers/lower side panels not fading like many of these cars have seen.

Oh, and it's still bone stock!

You have no shame. posting that, is like eating steak in front of a starving child. WHERE IS YOUR SHAME.

(Pretending his 120000 mile car is just as nice)

No. Those might be 'nice' headlights... But I must say, I still prefer my ubber l33t glass headlights....

I'm really sorry fzel07wrx....your car is really making me feel small...

Am I the only one who just wants to sit in his car and smell the new interior? Admit it people, dont leave me hangin.

Re: 13 years old... 15,386 miles.

Thanks guys. Your headlights look just as nice zavikan! I will admit though... not being smoked or eaten in... our SVX still amazes me with how much it still smells brand new.

Also, I finally created a signature so you have more than just a random username to know me by!

Sadly, I see IMG picture codes don't work in signatures...

Frank
My body shop told me about the insulator wax. Said it was the best around. I hadn't seen the UV protectant before. Where do you get it and do you use it on your headlights?

Really Nice car!!!

Re: 13 years old... 15,386 miles.

I've been getting pretty familiar with detailing these past few years and I even held a detailing position over this past summer. Rotary is quick and fairly easy, but I use a portercable on most of the cars I have done. Takes longer, but gives me a better feeling that I didn't miss anything or rush through it.

Anyways, I get my products 50/50 from...

http://www.detailersdomain.com/ (out of NJ, vendor on nasioc, really nice guys, do fantastic work) I buy my polishes/pads/sealant/MF towels from here. Promotional code NASIOC at checkout gets you 10-15% off entire purchase! Can't remember if it's 10 or 15...

and

http://www.autogeek.net/ (You'll find the 303, Collinite, P21S on here)

Collinite is definitely my favorite wax I have ever used. 303 is great for any black plastic trim, dashboards, and tire sidewalls. NOTHING becomes extremely shiny and best of all, no silicone release agents that will dry out the material or make it feel greasy.

The P21s Paintwork Cleanser is an oxidation remover/minor swirl filler all-in-one. Keeps the paint in great shape, disguises minor imperfections, and with proper washing techniques, you might only need to polish a daily driver car once every few years. Any paint cleanser is a great investment. Saves wearing down your clearcoat with excessive polishing.

Lastly, I have never touched the headlights. With anything. It's just what 13 years kept in a garage with minimal use will do in returning the favor.

I have a bunch of detailing tips and tricks, so anyone feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

College in Rochester, NY... sorry guys! I've definitely been through all the Reading threads but I never seem to be around. My parents love the car, but they've never been into car meets and everything they entail. My father likes it for what it's worth, but I'm the designated car nut in the family. (My excessive cleaning and care for this car gave him the idea of passing it on to me instead of selling when retiring! Pretty much the best idea ever, right?)

When is the meet this year and/or next year? I'm really not up to date right now, but maybe I could work something out one of these weekends. My real home away from college is less than an hour from Reading... so it wouldn't be a problem.
