It might be mold or something in there. On a hot day turn the heat on as high as it will go (econ) and leave it for an hour or two. That's what someone suggested..

Yeah, you've got dead ghosts in there, alright. I'd try some spirits of turpentine sprayed into the vents.
Works for me. Ron.

I don't know about turpentine, but a can (or two) of lysol in the intake vents helped to get rid of the wet sock smell in my AC. I think I alternated between high heat, vent, and cold for about 10-15 minutes each. The lysol smell will persist for weeks if not months, so choose your fragrance carefully.

If you can get underneath your car look for the a/c drain on the right side floorboard near the bellhousing. Make sure it is clear and unobstructed. Usually the drain collects debris (leaves, etc.) and doesn't drain properly. Sometimes the condensate from the a/c collects so much that it leaks from the a/c case and soaks the passenger carpet and pad - another place for mold and mildew to flourish. Look up under the glove box and pull the carpet towards you a tad to see if the backside is damp. If so you'll need to pull it up and air it out, maybe use a fan and some mildew killer. Make sure you find the source of the problem so it doesn't repeat itself.

Uhh....kinda. Have you seen what's under the RF carpet pf a 928? A hunk of marine plywood covering the most catastrophic fuse and relay center you've ever seen in a car.
Actually 'floorboard' is a colloquial word here, entirely interchangeable with 'floor'. And I still say 'groovy' once in a while...

In Oz more important things are done with the right hand. like giving the fingers to other drivers. In my case being completely left handed I have to open the roof and use the digits that way, otherwise I find the left hand shift very handy. , don't know about the other 90%. Just as well I live in Australia. Harvey. lefthanded as usual.
