You will know in 2 weeks when I hit the dyno again.... Should be in the 350whp range hopefully. That being said, there is still A LOT of potential left in these motors that at this point in time is untapped.

There was a Drag rail car built with a EG33 in it...I dare to say it had the most power ever squeezed out of an EG33...but was far from stock

Do a web search for Frank Aragona Jr. He ran a EG33 powered dragster supposedly with over 1000HP and times in the 7's.

As you can see it is a bit modified, but still the base SVX engine.

Yeah, unfortunately it seems that the most powerful EG33's are no longer in SVX's. Also look to what the guys playing with sandrails are doing....

I don't think you can get anywhere near 1000 bhp out of the SVX engine without turbocharging or supercharging, and then you would need to run a super high octane fuel. Normally aspirated (as in the case of the dragster) a bhp of something over 400 is more likely - with nitrous, maybe 550 in short bursts. We had a member on the Yahoo Groups who once claimed to have a JDM spec engine in his SVX, twin-turbos, making over 1100 bhp! Never got a picture or any other verification that it existed. Maybe in his dreams.

Maybe to go look at other people doing pulls! The car's not back on the road just yet. And really I would have guess to guess that there is a lot more that can be done with our engines. I mean if 2.5's are putting down 600WHP. Yeah hightly modified but if someone takes the time and money they can do the same with the EG.

Tim,
Thanks. I know Bobby posted about not being able to post .pdf files from a dyno session last Tuesday, just hadn't heard any specifics since that post.

Interesting thing when you look at the pics is that it sure looks like he's feeding 3 cylinders with one Carter 625 cfm 4 barrel carb

Yeah, the drag racers are making some serious #'s with the EG33. The guys making reliable power are the aircraft builders. Wasn't there a thread for a 500hp turbo'd EG33 not long ago? IIRC it was an Ebay engine.
The thing about airplane engines.... they make 500hp even inverted!

NE SVX Owners

One of you NE SVX owners with a pocketful of money should check out Joe Aragona's International Motor Shop in Plainview, NY and see what he could do with your SVX. He might be able to fix you up with more power--for the right kind of money, of course.
