Nice project. I must say it's impressive, i've seen the engine bays of those, i can't imagine how you pulled it off. Congrats.

Probably with bolts. Or nuts. Whichever.

Hummm.
Let me rephrase.
Gee, I wonder what kind of transmission is attached to the SVX engine which is in the Porsche.

What a bunch of Maroons.:

Happy New Year All.

It just seems so odd to me that they would want to swap to our motors. What's wrong with a porche boxer that ours is an improvement? I know the EG is a pretty solid motor, but just curious...

well lets see..

1. the engine is AMAZINGLY cheaper to buy and rebuild
2. it makes 50 more horsepower in stock form than the equal Porsche 3 litre
3. It has modern fuel injection as opposed to CIS injection
4. It's more reliable
5. The engine is lighter
6. noone else in the world has a Porsche like mine

So, any reason why everything you've done wouldn't transfer 100% to putting an EG33 in a 914?

Am I the only one that half-expected him to get T-Boned by that pickup at the ~33 second mark?

Very cool car, by the way!

Sweet sound, very impressive work. It's good that you can hear that sound while you are driving

Just curious...has anybody here done the opposite of this? Meaning, putting a Porsche motor on SVX? Is it even possible...?

I don't even want to consider what a Porsche wiring harness must run, let along what the engine would cost in the first place...

There is a rationale for putting the EG33 in a Porsche; it's a similar flat 6, and can be had for 1/4 the price of a Porsche engine, and it's modern and makes more horsepower.

Reversing that argument on its head, you would be fitting a less powerful more expensive engine into the SVX, what would be the point? The engine would be worth more than the finished car.

Nice

I was wondering when someone would do that seeing a it is a boxer engine after all.

Can you share
-what year the Porsche is
-what the project might have cost you
-how did you come by the Porsche-was it one you bought with no engine?
Just curious....

Enjoy it,

Max

Yeah right I just checked some Porsche engines on the market... They are really $$. No point doing that. Just was thinking some engines from 993 or 964 that has more HP.
