Need window help ASAP

I got a new driver's side window switch box today (thanks thetareactor) and plugged it in to see if it worked. I rolled down all the windows, but the passenger one won't go back up. I plugged in my old one, won't go back up. The passenger switch won't roll it back up either, but it did earlier today.. wtf. I can hear the motor grunt when I push for it to go down more, but no noise at all to roll it up.

I need help pronto because here in Ohio it'll randomly pour down rain for 20 min any time during the day and I park outside. Is there a relay or fuse somewhere for this? Argh!

Nevermind, thetareactor sold me a bunk part. I plugged the old one back it and the passenger buttons work fine. The two switches must be in series or something. Well, I'm going to put the old driver's side passenger contact into the new assy and see what happens.

I got it all working. I used my old assembly and basically paid him $65 for a new little plastic button to roll my window up and down. He told me the assembly was brand new and never installed, but when I took it apart all the copper contacts were fairly worn out.

Theta, I don't appreciate this and would like most or all of my money back.

The switches certainly felt and looked a lot better than the ones I was going to be replacing. If it really is worn on the inside, and thus not quite up to spec, I'll be happy to refund some of your money.

I don't appreciate the way you've handled this, however. If you'd contacted me directly when you first noticed the problem, I'd have been much happier about giving your money back.

Sorry, I worked a long day and was really tired. Having this go wrong after my speaker problem got me a little pissed off. Sorry for making this public, somebody can delete this thread.

Don't worry about it. I've been in a crap mood all week. I'd probably have punched you in the face, given the opportunity.

Window Switch

"#*%& HAPPENS" guys .....Just thot I'd let you know "Ric" that when I got my car one of the window switches wouldn't work either! The SVX came with a master window switch in a plastic bag....It looked like a new part! When I put it in...another part of it didn't work!....just as in your case! SO! (just like you!) I used part of each to get all functions working!

MORAL: Be thankful it's all working!

Mine is three years down the road and it all works fine!

peace.

The window can stop working if there's a loose connection anywhere.

I've also noticed that when the switches start to fail you can still get the window to move if you press down lightly on the base of the switch in addition to pressing normally.

DIRT in Switch mechanism...?

I found a lot of my problems with the window switches in my Impulse were mainly dirt/dust that worked its way inside the switch...preventing contact of the two metal surfaces! i don't know if the SVX switches come apart?
