Question strange sound

sometimes when i shut off the svx after a drive, i hear a strange whirring/whining noise coming from the back of the car. it stops after about 30 seconds or so. it sounds like pressure bleeding out of my tank but where and why? it's not the cap, i checked there. the sound is under the car. any ideas??

Cool

not the antenna. it's a much higher pitched sound and usually the radio hasn't even been on all day. i don't listen to it much and it's brand new.

Then the only other thing I can think of to whir in the back would be a fuel pump located just a little inward of the passenger side rear shock but it shouldn't be that.

maybe i didn't describe it quite right. it's like a air leak in a leaky valve stem sort of sound.it doesn't sound like a motor really. and the sound fades out gradually over about a 30 sec. to 1 min. period till it's gone.

You hear it when you turn the car off, but do you hear it by turning the key but not completely starting the car too?
Sometimes I hear that with mine.......I betcha it's the fuel pump.

i only hear it after being driven for awhile. my fuel pump is very quiet and very hard to hear, so i doubt that too. i'm starting to think maybe the gasket on the tank for the fuel pump may have a small leak that only leaks when i've driven it for awhile and built pressure in the tank. opinions?

Assuming its like the rest of the fuel pumps(mostly GM) that I've done then it would be metal on metal with no gasket in the middle but then again I'm not sure however that is a posibility onsidering that the tanks do build up pressure.
