Well it runs again and all, but..........

I took it for a short runn around the block tonight and sometimes when I come to a stop it will go to stall and act like it's running on three cyl. for a little untill I rev it back up. Very strange and not something I was hoping for. So I still need to figure out what thats all about. It's still burning oil and antifreez out the exaust, It seems to be clearing up but still stinks like oil.

Also I need an EGR tube. When I went to take it off,the nut was stripping and the boltswere breaking so I just cut the tube becouse I didn't have time to screw with it. I'm gonna post that in the wanted forum too but just thought I'd mention it here also, so if any ones got a good EGR assembly to sell me let me know.

I can probly cruise to the meet this weekend without the EGR but I definitlly need to cure the stalling/ skip thing.

Thumbs up

Sweet! Glad she's back on her feet again Jesse. I'm sure you'll figure out the stalling issue soon enough...

Jesse,
I think there's an EGR assembly on EBay right now (think somebody out in Vegas is parting out a '92 )

wait... what went wrong at reading?
i missed the thread abou6t what happened and why it was b0rked there and now it's running kinda

the idle thing sounds like you have a problem w/ the idle air bypass check the hose you might not have attached it right or fully and it might not be pulling enough air in w/ the TB's closed

Well I shattered a piston and some other stuff inside the motor, I havn't had a chance to pull the heads yet and get some good picks but I will. I had to swap in my spare motor, I'm not sure the old one will even be good for rebuilding.

At first I thought it was the IAB untill I started it back up again it it was skipping like hell for a few seconds, I'll find it.

The only thing I didn't change from the old motor was the crank pick ups and the cam sensor, maybe one of the crank sensors is losing it's sync? It's one thing to look into.

jesse another thought
altho it sounds weird to cause the problem the coolant temp sensor can cause some very strange idle/running if it's going bad but not bad yet it won't throw a CEL
i had to replace mine because the engine was running funny might want to check that out, the part is like 5 bux from subaru
