high speed shake
how often is it that u can lose weights on wheels. i had a bad shake at 60 + a month and a half ago and now its back. the roads also suck here. i had them balanced. $12 a wheel and it get no cheap any where else. my tires are in very good condition. has anyone had a problems with wheels coming loose. for some strange reason i think this is my problem. the shake is more in the back like its the rear wheels and a little in the wheel. seems normal at 50 and below with no braking probs.

I've had people come to my (former) shop with alleged balance problems. By all means, have the balance checked again, but don't forget to have the alignment checked. I don't understand how the alignment being off can make the car shake, but I swear to God I've seen it happen.

Next time you're at the tire place, have them raise the entire vehicle off the ground, start the car and then stick her in drive. Then check all four wheels for out of roundness. Three of four of my rims are bent and no amount of balancing will fix this. Eventually I'll pony up for a set of new rims.

Keep in mind that in cold weather, if your car has been setting for a while, the tires can take a set that is slightly out-of-round. It can take several minutes of driving before it goes away. Snow and ice built up on the inside wall of the rim can also cause out-of-balance.

Yup, the stock wheels are excellent at packing in the snow after a vigorous session of drifting or other assorted attempts at parking lot graffiti. If you go on the highway immediately afterwards, you'd think you had bent a rim or something was broken in the suspension.

i was told about the snow packing deal since that may have been the deal the first time. now it seems fine very little shake after 80 but i am still going to pull the tires and un melt every thing and hope for the best. i have blizeck tires they are made of very soft rubber at - 35 u can still push down on them with your finger. they are not suppose to freeze up. very nice for the winter tracsion i would recomend these to all svxers. but summer they have to go. or the rubber will. ty for the responses.

sorry to say this but your wheels bending in the middle of a drive can not happen with good inflated tires and everything previosly balanced. maybe if you hit some curbs or let the car set on flat tires for a period of time or possibly the car sitting in one spot for quiet alwile might do it. this was like an all of a sudden thing in the middle of a 70 mile drive. not the beginning. like i said before now at around 85mph i feel it a little. so for the most part it is getting better. i will examine more today.
