Thumbs down The mercy of Subaru

Going into SVX withdrawels. *drinkswarmmilk*

What was it last time? A little over 2 weeks to get my tranny overhauled?

I was over at my apartment, expecting my buddy to pick me up, whom never showed. Luckily Edgo signed on to MSN, and I had him make a few calls being I have no phone and was leeching a wireless connection.
The first callwas to my bud, something about being a jackass, I dunno. *spasm*
The final call was to the body shop, and after 5 minutes of trying to find records of who I was and if my car even existed, Ed relays to me my parts aren't even in the country, and it will take until the 20th for it to be done.
I happened to catch a ride from someone at the last minute, made my way to the duplex, got rear ended by a cab along the way, and snagged the Grand Cherokee upon arrival. *twitch*

I just stormed over to Spruce Park Auto Body demanding to know why it's going to take another 12 days to get my SVXs rear end fixed.
They said,
"What? Nobody said it would be done on the 20th."

WTF?!

"We told Continental Subaru to order a quarter panel extension, and they ordered a quarter panel."

So?!1

"Subaru of Japan says there isn't a quarter panel extension in the US, blah blah can't be order until the 14th."

STFU, noob.

*nervous laughter and fidgeting* "Hey man we're totally at the mercy of Subaru, here. That's what we told your friend. You came all the way over to hear that?"

Yeah, I wanted to hear it from the source.

*he looks at me like I'm an idiot* "Yeah, ok then."

So, as I'm already losing patience with having to share an SUV, I expect my car to be out of comision for a months time, which is retarded.

Subaru may have made a few really nice cars, but as of yet, I have never been impressed with anything else they do. This little screw up is giving me second thoughts about continuing service with my local Subaru dealer, body shops, and places my mom refers me to.

Any SHMUCK can find the parts needed to fix this car. Why not get it from the same one that they're getting the deck lid from?

If I have to pay for getting this bastard shipped I am going to go off on them.

Geez that guy was a jerk.

Thank you for voting. The voice of the people is important.

Doing some deep research into finding a Stealth ECM for a reasonable price.
If anyone has any leads...

91 Dodge Stealth SOHC, 5 speed.

If someone could front me some current Alaska plates that would be awesome.

Part problem

Hey NikFu, I undersand you anger man. I would be pissed too. I know that parts are messed up to begin with. When I worked at a body shop I always saw part change with out notice. The other thing is that all auto manufactures like to find new was to make more money. If they discontinue a small "dog leg" on the quater panel that cost 25.00 and only make it avalible on a 500.00 quater panel then they do. It is a b.s. move on there part but there is nothing you can do.
If you can find that part at a nother location let the body shop know and see if they will get it there. It may not fit as good as a factory one. I too have had a part get back ordered and no parts in country, Toyota is famous for it on new cars. Older cars have this problem too, especially rare ones.

The body shop is making money on you car one way or another. They will not spend the time to find a cheaper part for you.

I would also call the dealership and talk to the parts manager and see what he/she can tell you. Express you concern but KEEP YOUR HEAD on straight. If you get mad and yell, scream, and *****a at then you will get little help. They are more likly to help a friend then a di@k.

Good luck

Steve

Too bad putting cliffnotes at the bottom of long posts isn't a tradition on this forum. It would sure help us lazy people out.

I shouldn't have to pay for anything. This is what I'm hoping to stay true the most.

I never lose my cool. Not in public.
Not off the road that is.

OHYES.

MSN IM convo about an hour ago->

Eggo:
I talked to a guy about a ECM.
It's used but it's already had the new transistors put in it.
I'm negotiating it around a 125 - 150.
Check..
He got the same whip
Drivin one day , a crane ball fell on his roof when he parked it to go into a store.
Smashed the whole rear end.
The car starts though , would run it the back end was working. But that's the deal.
I'm waitin for his response.
It will also come with a 90 day warranty.

NikFu:
sweet
just need to make this go through

Eggo:
Do my best.
So if he doesn't go through , I'll hit up one of the other ones.

NikFu:
werd

Eggo:
He sounds easy going and honest , has a flat - stable tone when he talks so he's not tryin to scam.
Doo..
I know a place where you can pick up PS2's for like 50 dough with cables and 1 controller.
I did that , went to game stop ( used/new game store. ) picked up like 20 games for under 150 dough , turned arond and sold it to this mexican kid for 260.

NikFu:
lmfao, dude...

Read one line then take a break if you have to. Get a drink of water, then try the next set of words.

If you really think that, then you need to find another car. Cool it.

You've had the car for awhile, you should know the drill. Parts are scattered all over the place, and some aren't even available in the US on short notice. Why didn't they get part B where they got part A? Because the place that had part A didn't have part B, that's why.

Any SCHMUCK knows that.

They have the whole car. They just would rather order a brand new one than cut the junked one off, which is fine I guess. I was pretty irritated earlier but now I don't give a damn. They just better not screw up. A month is plenty of time.

WTF
It's sitting in the paint shop right now. That means they got all the parts and blended them on already.
Thanks for contacting me guys.

Well it is my car so I should be the one taking initiative to find out what's going on, which is what I did... so...

I guess it was a lot easier than they thought it would be. Unanticipated turn, but appreciated nonetheless.
I'll be back in the saddle early Monday at the latest, late Friday at the earliest.

Still looking for word on that ECM from Ed.

OR, it means there was still one part MISSING, which they didn't realize, so it's just been sitting in the paint shop.
According to them SoA still hasn't sent out or got whatever the **** they are supposed to do.

Japan is closer than most of the US I don't see what the fricki problem is here.

Stopped by Spruce after work, and they just happened to be doing the final inspection.

OMG eet luks BEWTEEFULLLL!!1111

Looks new matter of factly.

Sadly, teh total came to over 5 grand. I can afford the 3g, but the adjuster in whereever has yet to send the extra dough so I couldn't get it out.

We'll see what happens tomorrow.
