Even if done right the tech's portion hasn't anything to do with the issues I mentioned above. Try going to a national chain like PepBoys or Valvoline Quick Lube, etc., you'll get the rundown from those that have been there.

I had my tranny flushed about 20,000 miles ago (at 60K) by my Subaru dealer and have not had any problems to date.
The SVX Master Tech told me that, like most good flushing machines, it uses the transmissions own oil pump to move the fluid. With the engine running, the old fluid is pushed out while the new fluid is drawn in. Since there is no additional pressure used to flush, other than the trannys own pump, I wouldn't think there is anything that would disrupt or dislodge anything. It is just moving fluid at the same rate it always did, only the fluid is always fresh.

it's not about whether the machine uses the trannys atf pump, well I guess it could be. The main thing is getting rid of the old stuff. For instance, the clutch packs and whatnot start to disentigrate, but there's still enough of the clutch material floating around in the atf to keep the clutches working, when you flush out the old stuff, there's not enough for the clutches to work.

I would advise not to have the SVX's 4EAT flushed. |

I had recently purchased the car used so I cannot speak for that. It is VERY well taken care for since i's rebuild.
