Opel Speedster

I saw one of these by my house today. No kidding, I really did. I knew right away what it was, but I was a little surprised to see it there.

Does anybody know of any plans to sell it in the US, or did GM just bring this one car into the states for grins?

Speaking of Supercars, I think this will be my next car:

http://www.supercars.net/SDBQ?i=900

Heck they go for around the $20,000 mark now with less than 30,000 miles on them.

Man, I totally agree with you. I have always loved the Esprit. The tough choice, when I'm able to afford one, will be between the earlier Giugiaro Esprit or the current gen.

I wonder, though, whether or not the Esprit would totally piss me off in terms of reliability. They make the SVX look like a Corolla in that department.

BTW that page has more info on it than nost on that site, but they're wrogn about the drivetrain. The engine is transverse-mounted.

Well seeing that I truly am VERY serious about buying one (and have been for the last 2 years), this was my favorite site:

http://www.espritfactfile.com/

One thing that is really nice on the site is the fix-it/how-to sections. Which also give you the real lowdown on what tends to break on them. But like you said, they are far from reliable.

If I had the money I would obviously want the V8, however I figure the 4cyl turbo will most likely by my future car (simply due to cost). It's kind of too bad though, considering the V8 has proved to be much more reliable than the 4 banger.

I've been to that site before, but not recently. A lot of info to be had there, and it also probably scares away some would-be owners.
