555 ft/lb55
555 ft/lb is a lot of torque, 7000 lb is a lot of truck, my 460 f150 only goes 5800 lb, BUT, on LSD, ARE YOU CRAZY???

I have done it in some form or another in every car I've owned/rented.
That's in the hundreds.

It never snows here enough to play........ However.... the other morning, in a silly circle (otherwise known as a roundabout) I did slide like crazy, sort of gunned it, and felt the AWD kick in..... (snicker, snicker) ~~Michelle

i hate when the awd "kicks in".
it feels like something breaking. a few times this winter my wheels would freeze. especially after going through dep snow. whenever i would try to mob outta joint i would hear *pkk crack!* scary.

What car have I ever owned that I haven't done it in? When I was young a friend and I would take our cars to the local K-Mart lot after an ice storm. We would run a course around shopping carts and light poles and see how fast we could take it and how close we could get to the "obstacles" without hitting anything. We would get pretty darn close (inches) but never hit anything (thank God!). It truly taught us what to expect of our cars in a given situation and the skills that developed from it have saved my life many a time over and over again.

I used to try to play with my wifes 83 LTD II in snowy parking lots but it only ran on 4 cylinders so it was like it had traction control. BTW it had a 200ci. Inline 6.

Beware of ice.
I used to do it all the time, and considered myself quite good at it. I could pull an e-brake turn into a parking spot that had cars on both sides(and not hit the curb). Yup. I was the man. I was ALLL there was to talk about brothaz. My poo poo did not stink. Then I tried having fun on glare ice(talking skating rink quality). Ya never know how far an SVX will go, backwards, into an icebank. Humble pie tastes like crap. I'd guess I was completely out of control, going in a straight line for about 60 feet or so......ugh....
But give me around 3 weeks or so, and I'll have forgotten my lesson entirely, and I'll once again join you all doing 360s in the parking lots of America. |
