Dash lights wont go off

OK, it started with all of my dash lights lighting up. I replaced the alt and it fixed the problem for a few days. Now i have the battery light and the break/light warning lights light up on the dash. When I get the RPM's at 1.75-2 they turn off. Battery reads normal even ay the low rpm's. Im sumped.

Any suggestions?
Adam

Re: Dash lights wont go off

Where did you get the "new" alternator from? Was it a rebuild from one of the box stores? If so, It's probably bad. They are known to have failures "right out of the box".
Other than that, check your grounds and check the positive wires running from the alternator across the top of the a/c compressor, but it sounds like a typical cheap rebuild failure.

If they stay on till that speed, the plug on the side of the alt may be bad, as it should start it charging right from idle. It looks like it is taking some internal feedback to start it charging.

Was this ever solved? My car started this this morning. Haven't had time to troubleshoot cause I'm at work now. The alternator is few years old
