in the very beginning when they say "xxxxx is going to show you how to buy a new car" The woman is running her fingers along the window line of an SVX. It would have been good to know that is all there was so I didn't have to watch the whole video of a Chrysler

You might have mentioned that the SVX only had a cameo during the intro. Or do you have the other segment where Lisa Barrow helps us buy a new car (where she caresses an SVX at a Subaru dealership)?

I searched on mpt.org's site, and unfortunately their MotorWeek index only goes back to 1998.

I still watch it every week. A couple of observations:

It's always autumn on Motorweek. Who knows why?

John Davis has been wearing the same assortment of ugly windbreakers since roughly 1990.

I've been to that track in Maryland where they do the tests and it is (atleast when I was last there) a crap hole.
