Man, that would be sweet! If my dad lived near me and we both had Porsches, that would make for some great father/son sunday drives.

your Pops got good taste!

with Porsches, buy the newest one you can afford - they were constantly being improved upon.

the 87S4 saw the introduction of the 320hp 5.0L dual induction engine (and the bigger brakes, new "bodystyle" front and rear, among other things.)

the 89GT's got 330hp

the 93-95GTS's got a 5.4L with 350hp, and the 911 Turbo "Big Red" brakes (in black)

i'd register at the 928 forums on Rennlist.com to look for ones for sale and ask questions. also check the for sale section at www.928gt.com (holy ****, they have a beatiful silver GTS <DROOL!>

Wow! I never knew the '93-'95 928's had that strong of an engine. Those cars definitely are beautiful and timeless.

P.S. 350hp is still a good deal more than the current 996 320hp Carreras... What was the official top speed of GTS's???

the factory rated top speed for the GTS was 171mph, but i have a video of Al Holbert setting two FIA speed records for a production vehicle (they did tape up the headlights) in an '87 S4 (the one i had ) in the flying kilometer and flying mile at Bonneville Salt Flats – 171+mph. the S4 was factory rated at 167mph. i'm guessing the GTS could do a little bit more than 171mph with the 30 extra horsies.

Now that's really haulin' - awesome pic!!!

I'm also sure a GTS could get up higher than the factory rating as well...
