'Classic Extended Service Plan'
A friend here at work just bought a '98 Legacy sedan. The car has a mere 31k miles on it. The dealer is offering him the extended service agreement mentioned above. For $1,900 it'll cover most of the car for 4 years or another 50k miles.
I cant decide whether or not it's worth it. My guess is no. But what if the famed 4EAT starts slipping or oil leaks develop? So, anybody who has bought a car from a Subaru dealer lately, did you buy the extended service agreement or not? And why or why not? Even better yet, if you have a previous-gen Legacy, what problems/maintenance did you encounter between 30k and 80k? Thanks.

Call SOA and verify that the original owner didn't already buy a transferable Subaru extended warranty.
I've seen a few dealers that asked someone to re-purchase something that is already part of the car. Doug
