the most comfy car I've been in...

Tonight, while putting the lights back in from my tail light mod v 2.0, I locked myself out of the apartment. For some unknown reason, my rear window was left open so I can get back into my car. I called the management for my building and they can not do lock-out service till 7 in the morning. I ended up disconnecting the -ive side of the battery and slept in the SVX. Damn! It's comfortable. I actually managed to fall asleep. I am still tired so more sleep for me. But I just wanted to share that you can actually fall asleep in the SVX without a problem.

I seem to remember at least one club member sleeping in his car at my meet last year.

I hope you got into your apartment okay...

I actually slept in my car, on purpose, this past Sunday night. I laid the back seat down, threw in my sleeping bag and pulled my sheepskin seat covers off the front seats to use for extra padding. Not bad. (No, Shari didn't kick me out of the house. We were at a function with about 30 kids and I didn't want to spend the night on the Gym floor. So, I slept in the car.)

I was the stage manager for the Wisconsin Childrens' Theatre for a while late in high school and I traveled with them to a few shows out of state. We usually accepted charitable lodging from local churches which meant every single one of us in the same room on a cement basement floor.

Unfortunately I did not, yet, have my SVX. But I can relate to your above sentiment, Randy.

edit:

This has absolutely nothing to do with this thread, but I just remembered a story from one of those trips.

While I was the stage manager for this group, we travelled to Minnesota to do a show in a theatre at the museum of art. I can't remember the name of the museum, but they had a fantastic sculpture garden which contained a piece (or, rather, installation) by one of my favorite artists. I spent some time one day in that sculpture garden while the kids were touring the city.

Since I was part of a rather tight-knit crew in high school, and since I was stage manager for this show, most of the clothes I had with me were black. So I was walking in this garden wearing black jeans, black work boots, black shirt, black bag, etc. This group of college (I think) kids was walking around, as well, and they kept looking at me. They were also wearing a lot of black, of the geek variety. I remember an OS/2 Warp t-shirt.

These guys kept walking past me. I was sitting on this wall and they kept walking silently by, trying not to appear like they were looking at me.

Finally one walked up and asked me, in a german accent, 'does the phrase 'death cookie' mean anything to you?'

'No.'

'Oh, sorry.'

The only word for what he, and his friends, did next was 'scurry.'

Weird. I haven't thought of that experience in probably three years.

No, it was a good story. It just harkened back to . . .

Having been in the "Legitimate Theatah" myself, I can appreciate it.
