wix 51334

my Wix for porsche filters i bought off the advice posted on this board have the oring seal in the wrong place, won't work

I will post those 2 filters up for sale for someone who may want them
2.50 per filter plus shipping

i went and got wix #51334 and will use that.

Not sure what is wrong with this board recommending stuff that won't work.

You should feel lucky that it was just an oil filter.

Re: wix 51334

.

The WIX website says the correct filter for the Porsche 944 1983-1995 is 51287

These are the L30165 filters we have been using for years. The rubber gasket is different, but makes NO difference and does not leak. TomsSVX, svxfiles an others have never had problems of any kind.

Did you try them before deciding they wouldn't work or just compare gaskets visually? What number were you given?

The board does not make any recommendations to others that have not been thoroughly tested, whether it is an oil filter or my new alternator wiring modification

You can see that the Purolator filters have different gaskets, and they work just as well!!

Re: wix 51334

I have been using the L30165 filters since I origionally got the car from svxfiles and I would honestly not use anything else. It works fine for me.

Re: wix 51334

Try using amsoil Ea020 for a super efficient filter. I use it along w/ amsoil synth and change oil & filter once a yr

Re: wix 51334

I have 2 of the wix 51287 filters in the garage that I'm going to be using for the first time this weekend. I'll post up pics and whether or not they work.

There are times when we just have to brace up, take the lead and decide to work out things for ourselves.

Can't imagine me blaming someone else and whining about an oil filter that doesn't fit... You can always take a look and compare them with a filter that is on the chart for your car while you are at the auto place.

Try to "get over it"

Keith
