Re: warm start issues on replacement engine

Jordan,
yes thanks for that.
Glad I have a spare motor so I can try the replacement stuff first - pretty ugly costs if you had to buy parts just to see "if it will fix" a problem.
I had to replace the egr solenoid and both were brittle & broken - $500 from Subie Aust!!
Anyway, minor set back, idler pulley on right camshaft belt is bad (was part of original engine damage out of Pearl wreck) fractured high tensile stud (apparently) - engine no run to well...not at all like that!

Re: warm start issues on replacement engine

Yeah was a bit of a shame, but it gives me a little more confidence driving the car over a 100kms a day knowing that a sensors not gonna screw me over.

Strangest problem. What do you think it could be?

Jordan.

Re: warm start issues on replacement engine

OK! some development here from an expert who gave me some advice.

He's thinking it could be vapourisation in the fuel lines, first he suggested flooding like that of a car with a carby, starting my SVX after 2-6 hours sounds like flooding, the engine just turns over and over.
-Starting the car in the morning and is not an issue
-Starting the car after just turning it off.. also not an issue.

He asked me if the exhaust is close to the fuel lines and what not, and also asked if my fuel lines have heat shields.

Anyone have any ideas?

Jordan.
