We're Home Safe!!

Shari and I are home and safe. Our heads are still spinning (in a good way) from the activities and the comradarie. There are some of you I didn't get to say goodbye to, I hated it, but had to get on the road. Had to pick up my son along the way home.

Had a great two-car caravan with wasions 'til I had to get off on I-70. I appreciated the company.

I don't have time to post a "reflections" (nor does the entire WEB have room for it), but will post some later. It was awsome!!!! THANK YOU LARRY ---- YOU ARE DA MAN!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMBER!!

I think of the effort, and faith it takes to get 1 of 10 members of an anonymous "web" based organization to drive thousands of miles to make a thing like this work!

Even though I wasn't there:

Remember Captain Kangaroo with his "stone soup" story. Many people contributed something to create something larger and pretty cool. Larry took a risk reserving rooms on his credit card, then tours, membership stuff, graphics, stickers, shirts...whatever......

First class job.....even from afar....

Thumbs up

Yep, we made it too, about 9:30 pm. We ran through some torrential rain in Southwest Missouri/ Northeast Oklahoma. No hail or anything, but it was one of the best damned light shows that I've seen in quite a while. You know it's close when you see the flash and hear the psht-BOOM! from inside the car simultaneously. It was scary... in a cool kinda way. Like a good roller coaster.

It was great to finally meet everyone!

I made it home problem-free!

Got in at about 7:30pm. No problems whatsoever! I'm still amazed/dumbfounded.

It was really great getting to meet all of you! I truly enjoyed your company and my wife is bummed she didn't make it.

I look forward to many more meets and spending time with you again, hopefully somewhere slightly cooler!

Todd

I made it home ok. Got home around 3 yesterday. Sorry we lost you guys... Chris was in quite a rush. Our trip was actually pretty eventful... We got pulled over about 10 miles south of Lafayette for speeding (Our group of 5 cars.) The indiana state police officer was kind enough to let us go with just a verbal warning.

This meet was captured the essence of what this group of people is about. As Randy mentioned at the dinner on saturday night, this truly is a family and I am already missing all of you this morning.

Everyone take care, and I will have some pics and videos posted later in the day when I get home from work.

-Mike

The trip home was great! I caravaned with Larry, Casper150, and Shadowyng on the way back.. We stopped for chow around Springfield and ran into the PA crew at Perkins! I guess that was the official frming of the Springfield I meet?

Here's a pic of our formation on the way home.. Note the speedo

Oh, and Huck, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!! Thanks for helping me with the AC! It works flawlessly now!! The ride home was SO nice!

Had to leave early

Had to leave Sunday didn't get to meet everyone I would have liked, nor say adios properly. The meet was great, three cheers for Larry (one for each i). It was great to renew previous acquaintances, and make new ones. We just gotta do this again.

Hooked up with Matt (immortal_suby) & Kim outside Louisville, and we made a mini-carvan until just north of Knoxville, where I split off, and they continued south. Hope they & everyone got home safely.

Time to start planning the next one.

Did you say "Speedo!?!?!?"

Meanwhile, did anyone get a picture of the Lawn Care Company's truck that was behind the Hampton Inn when we returned from the luncheon? I thought I'd die!!!

I was talking to Shadowyng about that.. We should've taken a pic of that truck and photoshopped it to match your car!

(For those of you that didn't see it, it was Zebra lawn care)

It feels like the day after Christmas (NO not Boxing Day).
When your saying to yourself "I waited all that time for the great event - and now it's over"
It's kind of an empty feeling.
I WANT TO DO AGAIN. NOW!!!!!!
I suppose I'll have to wait till Reading, though.
It was an awesome weekend. Thanks Larry for bringing us all together, and thanks to every SVX'er who was there for making it such a memorable experience.

We made it home about 7:00pm last night, the rear bearing was roaring so loud by the time I got here I thought sure it was going to seize, was wishing I had one of those high end stereo system, then I could have drowned out the droan of the bearing.

Thanks to Larry Coffey for letting me take one of his spare bearings, in case I needed it on the way home.

Zeppelin, glad your AC held up, no thanks necessary, Besides you gave me a great deal on your old bumper cover, (I’ve GOT to get some of those white face gauges J )

And thanks Nubs for helping swap out my new bumper cover, maybe one day I be able to repay the favor.

Hope everybody enjoyed checking out the 5-speed, maybe I’ll have a better clutch in it by the next big meet.

All in all I had a great time! Hope to do it again soon. I didn’t meet a single person I didn’t like, everybody seemed happy and glad to be there.
