Question Re: Reading X activities

Does your curly tail hurt?

Are you referencing water-bedding? (or water boarding).
Either way - slept through the whole thing.

Ron.

Re: Reading X activities

We need people in the area to step up in preparation for the event. Dave and I had the rally done in January last time I did it... We are quickly coming up on the date and this is something that needs to be addressed.

Re: Reading X activities

I am willing to take time on a couple weekends to help out, provided there is someone who is familiar with the area willing to plan a rally whom I can assist.

What I can gather is:

-Nobody local has the time to plan a rally. If there is anyone who knows the area, I would be willing to lend my assistance to ensure that there is indeed a rally this year.

-I am willing to help plan the first annual Concours de Reading . If there are any suggestions anyone has as to categories or if there are any interested parties willing to help, please post or PM me. I will do my best to run with this initiative. My car will most likely NOT be ready, so I am not too worried about entering.

-Additionally, I would like there to be another significant raffle for this year. Tom and I will be speaking this weekend on more raffle prizes.

On a side note,

Di, can you make more of those wonderful name tags?

I can't wait for the Concours de Reading! Get ready, Hoffman! jk

I'll be bringing as many svx parts as I can stuff into my car to donate or give away.

Re: Reading X activities

Typically in a car show like this, you'll have awards set up into classes with first second and third place for each class. Like, Stock, Mild Mods, and Wild Mods. First second and third place for each. Then have a Best of Show, and some other awards, like "highest mileage" or "longest distance traveled to the show"

It would be nice to have trophies or plaques for each winner. Whoever would be handling this could contact companies that make or sell parts for our cars to sponsor the awards.

Just some suggestions...

Re: Reading X activities

in post #10 I said I would help if anyone wants it.

Maybe the drive isn't a great idea...last year there wasn't much excitement about it and some of the people that did do it gave up and went out and cruised around. Maybe there should be a pole about it before anyone puts the time and effort into it.

Just my 2 cents

Re: Reading X activities

I'll bring some stuff to donate, if I get some time I might do a set of blue gauges for the raffle. (not the white face but the stock face)

EDIT: Found some time tonight to do the blue ones, but don't have a usable temp gauge so it'll only be speedo, tach, and fuel. I'll post a pic when i'm done and see if they are raffle worthy or not.

Hey all!

I talked to Jackie from Annapolis Subaru and she will be sending some goodies for us to put in our raffle! I am also working on something to donate for the raffle too.

I was waiting to see if we had an "official" Reading X logo, but I'm sure I can find time, since I'm unemployed!

Here in WV, we prefer "can-Coors light" (by the 30-pack )

Re: Reading X activities

Alright, I will be working on possible ideas for the concours over the next week or so at least.

When I have a significant amount of progress, I will propose the tentative categories. Meritorious placement in a category will earn a framed certificate. I will work on possible prizes, but I cannot make any promises yet. If anyone has more suggestions, please post.

Thanks everyone for your input thus far.

Re: Reading X activities

Then something fun to do while drunk? You can only go through the McDonald's Drive through and play on the swing set and climb the light house and drag race in the parking lot and offer police officers beer and pass out "looking for your car keys" and make oil spills under john's car so many times before you um.... so many times... who am I kidding??! That crap NEVER gets old!
