I was also hitting about 110 at the end of the straight on the north course and about 115 on the straight at the south course. My terminal speeds are probably comparable to Tom's because of higher entrance speeds into the straight (experience and better tires) and shorter braking distances at the end of the straight (experience and better tires.), offsetting his significantly greater power.

This leads me to an observation about YT's brakes and the fade he experienced. I have never experienced fade, except for the vibration when I cracked one of Bien's d&s front rotors. Plus, I get 4 to 6 track days off each set of front pads, and I outbrake a lot of folks (brake system or balls?). I use Superblue fluid and have only once had a slight boiling problem, on my first track day weekend, and that fluid was a year old.

I think much of the credit goes to my pads, which have always been AXXIS Ultimates. They dust a lot (dark red brown ugly stuff), they squeal sometimes when they are cold, but they STOP, and they keep STOPPING. If you want to STOP, I recommend these pads.

the camera flew out the window and hit the wall at 150mph Just kidding, I didn't get to grab a camera before hand.

Dan, you are right... I was using more brakes and less down shifting than I needed to. I finished my brake pads that day... I just changed them last night and there was a little more than a credit card's thickness left. My tires wouldn't take a whole lot of lateral g's so I used my brakes heavy before the turns and powered out of them to keep pace. With some better tires and a little more balls and seat time I will be going a lot faster and using significantly less brakes... not to mention my car is heavier than yours by about 200lbs and this is relatively older fluid... I need to flush the fluid out soon and put in some of the racing fluid you were using... Where can I pick that up?

ATE Superblue is good enough for fluid. Available all over the Internet. AXXIS Ultimate pads are a little harder to find, but i think our pads are the same as a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder.

By the way, the road gods decided my KDW2's had enough miles. Hit a pothole yesterday, and my right front opened up right where the tread and sidewall meet. Next set will be Bridgestone RE01-R's.

Nice to see you guys having fun at the track !!!

I did this a few year ago in my stock SVX on the south loop for about 3 hours and got to about 86mph. This was with EMRA which is more backyard types racing. The instruction I think was not as good. The PDA group was running on the North loop that day.

It was great fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I would have gone back for more but hey this "fun racing" costs money. I never finished the time trial because of oil leaks from the front of the engine.

How much does the PDA group get for the day?

PDA gets $240 for the day for NASA members or $265 including membership fee if you're not already a member. Two day deal was $450 for members.

Wheels did take a little bit of a beating, but only cosmetic. Those Rota's are really tough.
