New to the SVX World

Hello!

I'm from Toledo Ohio and just purchased a SVX for $2200.
The guy i got it from said that it needs new U-Joints and that should be it.
Looking around the car it has minimal body damage. . .
a piece of the sideskirt kinda sticks out a bit and the small piece of the body below the
fender behind the passenger front wheel well is missing.
its a dark green with 150k miles on it.

I saw this and instantly knew it was the car for me!
Can't wait to start tweeking it and working on it.

Btw, where can i find the u-joints for it and for how much??
and also that piece below the fender?

Welcome to the gang! There are plenty of people here who will be able to help out with you parts problems. Watch out on Ebay though, we've had a lot of trouble with someone on there who keeps popping up.

Hello and welcome to the site, congrats on ur buy. Most of members over here get parts from subaruparts.com or 1stsubaruparts.com or even at rockauto.com.

You can even try on parts for sale or wanted over here. You will get quick response if someone is having those as this n/w is very responsive.

its a '92. it was for sale at a little dealership called MakenOffer ( my buddy bought an intrepid from there over the subaru ) It's in toledo and I've only seen one other svx here. It was a white one i saw at some street races that go on around here. Not sure what year. Perhaps a member here??

Welcome to the SVXWN Family.

As for U-Joints, you may want to verify the need on this before going further. I have 2 SVX's with one having more than 214k miles on it, driven hard and raced NHRA at the track for going on 8 years. My CV joints are WAY shot, but last I checked, my U-joints do not feel loose at all. On the other hand, I am not saying that yours are not shot, just check them manually or have a shop check them for you. Fortunately, if indeed they are bad, they are rather inexpensive and easy to change.

I was told that the u joints are not replacable, but you need to buy the whole drive shaft. They do sell universal u joints that slip on but I don't know how reliable they are. I had mine custom built, they welded a new u joint with the yoke and a grease fitting and balanced it. Check out my locker for photos on the custom built and the universal u joint.
