I became weary trying to keep a check and gave it away. To be honest I had hoped the SVX would prove more economical, taking into account the moderate engine capacity and the high gearing.

I have since become resigned to the the fact that comfort has to be payed for. i.e. Weight requires power and the power to weight ratio is acceptable and must be paid for.

What are your findings?

I find I'm getting about 440Kms, using 91. It is a mix of highway, and Welly, but does include 4 trips over the Rimutukas....

I presume you mean per tank full, but as this is rather non specific,

The best fuel efficiency result that I have recorded was on a trip from Sydney to Canberra - 7.9 litres / 100 km!

...........wish it was that economical in city driving!

*&%$* Hell!.......7.9?

By my maths I'm doing 13.5L/100Kms. But as I said that is a real mix of city, motorway (Yes! NZ does have some...lol) tisty turny stuff and 52Kms of mountain road with a total climb of 2200m.

Been using the wifes Toyota pilea**** this week and that worked out at 10.4L/100Kms...... so I think I'll pay the extra and have the fun.

That figure was obtained through constant 100 km/h driving, 4th gear, torque converter locked, cruise control on.

There was no stop-start driving, as I filled up just before the freeway, and filled up again just after I left the freeway, and entered Sydney.

From Sydney to Canberra, I got 8.4 L/100km - it was on the way back when I got 7.9.

Jason.

7.9 - crikey! I'm usually about 10-12 on long trips.
