Talking Not the first but...

YAY!
Next week I get my 5spd, WRX tranny! with a B&M short throw shifter!
I am so happy I could spit (although I normally spit when I am mad so maybe I messed up the saying) This week is the Koni suspension, motorsport drop springs, and stainless lines, next week tranny.
I think that is the end of my spending for the car for a while (I have to borrow all the money to do this, so until I repay people...)
YAY!!!
I can''t wait,
KTR is doing the swap, and Smallcar is providing the kit!
I have been grinning for a whole week, my god this is great!

He's not 'downing on you'. He's just pointing out that the smallcar kit is mostly worthless

I would have to agree with that as well.

Besides the fact that they give you scrap metal and say go to town. Or the fact that they do not back up their products worth a ****?? Pick either one and you will see. Do a search on the horror stories of the small car kit. Thats why most get/do it custom done in order to be sure the work is done properly. Listen not trying to be a downer just saying you might want to look for an alternative

They don't back up their products and have done some really bad things to members here. They have even threatened me when I have told them about what they did to me. (another very Loooooooooooooooong story) Good luck.

I like to be an optimist. I have no experience with smallcar, but I'm sure the kit will work fine for your purposes. It is clearly overpriced, but I hope it works for you. Congrats on getting the suspension and transmission that I couldn't afford!

Barred

I am barred from bidding on their Ebay auctions simply because I asked them to describe the condition of an item other than just trying to figure it out from the picture. (my pictures were lousy because of video problems)

Their response was that I should look at the picture. I stated that an honest seller would not hesitate to give a verbal description.

Based on simply that, I am barred from bidding on their auctions. I pay by PayPal the same day I win the auction and have an excellent feedback rating. Oh well, it is just costing them money because I bid on so many items to support my fleet.

To be honest, I don't know if the owner was involved with the decision. The Ebay manager was the one I was dealing with.

does anyone have an alternative to the small car mod...cause Ive been looking around for the same exact thing and they seem to be the only one on the web that is selling it. And Im not aware of anyone that does it here near asheville unless gotsubarus or someone else has an idea of where....cheaper than 3000$ I hope anyways, Im definately wanting the WRX but what is up with the 6 speed Ive seen rumors about also. but hey good luck to yeah black...Im gonna be getting me an SVX to fix up and give a little TLC too soon as well.

There are a couple of beauties on ebay right now.

As far as manufactured 5-Speed conversion kits, SmallCar is the only one I know of. Supposedly you can do your own for about $1000, but I have my doubts. Here are the instructions:

Great to hear that you are getting a 5MT!!!

One thing about your dignature though... If you can manage 400hp out of an EG33 Naturally Aspirated, I will fly out to wherever you are and kiss your @$$.... I am aiming for a much more reasonable 290 - 300hp... And even that is going to take alot of work and $$$ that I just don't have now... Infact when I do that, IF I do it at all, I will be using a new engine and building it from scratch. Atleast replacing my gears with STi RA gears, but hopfully some more STi owners will crash and total their cars so I can take their tranny's
