Question wrx silver parking light bulb

Would the silver tinted parking/ turn signal bulb from the WRX work in the SVX? That bulb is clear with a silver coating that turns orange when lite. When off, you can barely see the bulb thru the white lens. I did a search but couldn't find the bulb number only the OEM part number for the SVX.

If it's an 1157 then it will work.

I believe one person is already using these in the JDM clear corners with the internal orange globe removed.

Question

I was told that the WRX bulb is a 1156. I don't know the difference between 1156 and 1157 but Michael said it worked fine. Just alittle expensive to try without knowing for sure. Michael could you check the number on the bulb that you used.

the 1156 is only on/off (1 filament) just like our rear rurn signals. The 1157 has high/low (2 filaments) settings.

The 1156 is a single filiment and the 1157 is a dual for parking and brake.

The WRXs use an 1156 in the front, the SVX uses an 1157. The 1156 and 1157 are not interchangable. You can grind off a tab to make it fit, but it will short the parking and turn signals circuits together.

The bulbs you want are the 1157s. You can get them here: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...STEALT_pg3.htm
or
http://www.xenonmods.com/silverbulbs...57bulbinfo.htm

They are pricey but you can create your own by taking a 1157A bulb and covering it with a thin layer of Testors # 1181 Aluminum model paint.

Disclaimer - I have never done business with either place listed in the links. Use standard web caution if you choose to do business with them.
