Duty Solenoid C Code

SO i pulled a duty solenoid c code from my svx (97 lsi) the other day. Can anyone point me to a thread on a duty solenoid c how-to? i have done some searching without much luck. i have determined that my awd does work. so is it possible that the c solenoid is only sometimes failing? would that mean the solenoid is going bad or should i start by diagnosing something else?

i hope i don't sound like an idiot here, but i am very AT ignorant. i have figured out basically what the c solenoid does. i am just trying to figure out how i know if i need to replace it. is there any wiring that could be damaged causing the malfunction?

any help would be appreciated.

It means the TCU is getting an invalid responce from that circuit. Some have found a wire at the solenoid ready to fall off and only making sporadic contact.

Does your AWD engage quick and smooth or does it clunk or bind? Do your front tires spin first before the rears kick in?

The "wire" is inside the tailshaft housing... you will have to do a little dirty work to get to it... but if your that far, you might as well replace the selonoid while your there.
