Well, this thread prompted me to check the local dealer lot, and there it was. In gleaming metallic-silverish-darkish color, one 2006 STi. Looked good. And, I must say, the car looked better in person than it did in these pictures. The second spoiler, the one above the rear window, didn't look bad and it wasn't as prominent as in the pictures. Car was sharp. They were asking north of $34,000 on the sticker.

That's really dirt cheap with all things considered. However, I'm not ready to own such a dedicated performance car as a daily driver - former co-worker took me for a spin in an '04 STI.

That's why I'm really attracted to the '06 WRX. Great looks, more compliant suspension, and a blast at the dragstrip. I can't wait to see the performance numbers for the new STI & WRX. I'm guessing 13.0-13.1 for the STI and 13.9-14.0 for the WRX...

I wonder if Subaru will be offering a all-season tire package as an option or perhaps a second choice? Because with the factory tires the car has on it now snow/ice traction will be very limited.

Not on the STI, however, all other Impreza models (including the WRX), Legacy models, Outbacks, etc come standard with all-season rubber. Only exception to this is the new for '06 Legacy 2.5GT Spec B which has summer rubber mounted on 18" wheels, an upgraded bilstein suspension, and nav system.

I thought there was a Toyota dealership next door? And in a few months Toyota will be selling the new FJ-40 [short body Landcruiser] for the first time in about 20 years. But I love that new STi in silver.

as you guys post more and more pictures i have went from a mild dislike of the 06 body style to becoming rather fond of it, it just takes some getting used to, and im sure that there will be aftermarket body kits and such that will make it look awesome, too bad i wont be able to even think about buying one for another few years, im sure that peolple were like wtf when the bug-eyed wrx came out, same with the 05 body style, just wait till you start seeing them around.

Those pics are from a dealer in PA which is over 200 miles away. However, there's a dealer in Northern VA - Stohlman - that's has a Mitsu and Subaru franchise right by each other. We may ghet our vehicles there. However, I do want to shop around for a WRX in the color of my choice. I really like the crystal grey color...

I thought that fugly white legacy with the crooked orange strip looked familiar...

Unless there are two of the hideous beasts, those were shot at Lancaster County Motors, just about a mile from the racecar's home.

That is a Toyota dealership in the background of the photos of the silver one. But in the first blue photo there is an Evo sitting in the service lot.

I see a pattern here...as soon as Subaru redesigns or comes out with a new model everyone here hates the look.

Within a few days everyone makes a complete 180 on their opinion. First was the B11S, then the Tribeca then the 06 Impreza.

I'm still not a fan of the rear window wing thing.
