car randomly shutting off

i went out to get into my car tonite and i turned it on, after a second the car just shut off and the oil light, battery, power, stop lamp, and brake light were on. My headlights also stayed on. I'm very confused, just wondering if anyone would know a cause or if it ever happened before to anyone else.

thanks!

Fuel pump wire

My car did something similar, we knew it was the fuel pump. Upon inspection, it was noticed that the plastic clip securing the wire to the pump, in the tank had fatigued. The car stalled while driving once, wouldn't start another day, ran to and from another day, then just wouldn't start.

If you diagnose a fuel pump, take it out and check that wire before you spend a bundle on a new pump.

Sometimes mine does this.
Could be driving, could be stopped, doesn't matter.
Another NikFu X anomaly.

It starts right back up though.

A bad cam or crank sensor can cause the engine to suddenly die. We've seen this on a few Legacys. If this is the case with your car, you should look into it soon. If it is a bad cam/crank sensor eventually your car won't start at all.
