Say Hi to the New Guy!

Hi all. I've been reading these boards for a while now, while I was searching for an SVX. Now that I have one, I decided to join. My SVX is a '94 LSi, Red, w/ 24Kmi, and it's replacing my '89 XT6. I'm picking it up in New Jersey tommorrow, and I can't wait. Here's the link to the car, if anyone is curious:

http://www.autotrader.com/findacar/v...ED&cardist=381

Well, I look forward to talking to you all about our favorite car. And I'll let everyone konw how the trip goes. Bye all!

Welcome to the site. Nice car. That is very low mileage! Have fun on the trip home and bond with your new car. I hope you have many carefree miles with it.

What a day!

Well, I got my car, and it's just incredible. It's the most powerful car I've ever driven, and the most comfortable to drive. The only thing I don't like is the weight, it just doesn't feel as agile as my XT6. It does have a couple problems they didn't tell me about, but nothing major that would have swayed my decision. I absolutely love it.

The trip down was quite interesting. I've never been south of Boston in my life, so that was cool. The scenery in New York, Hartford, etc... was definetly something new. I saw some other interesting sights on the way down too. Specificly, a Bentley Arnage in Boston, and a Ferrari 456 Maranello and a brand new WRX STi in Greenwich.

The return trip was not quite so enjoyable. A 6 1/2 hour return trip ended up taking 11 hours. The weather in Jersey was horrible. Once we got into NYC, it cleared up, but we got stuck in a traffic jam. 2 hours to go 10mi, not something I'm used to. Once we got of of NY, the weather started again, even worse this time. Wind, pounding rain, heavy fog, thunder and lightning. There were times all I could see was the tail lights of the car in front of me. So here I am, alone, in terrible weather, driving a car I'd never driven before in my life, in places I'd never been before, and trying to read the directions to get home. What a nightmare. The second we hit Maine, though, everything cleared right up, and we cruised on home.

So, all in all, a crappy trip, but well worth it! And yes, as long as I can keep the keys hidden from my wife, I plan on keeping the mileage low.

It may seem like it is heavy (because it is), but you will appreciate it in heavy winds. It doesn't seem to be affected at all. Enjoy your new car.
