Dad's an electrician by trade

and a realist by nature. We buried 2" PVC for the wire run as well as any future needs and then ran #0 wire for the 220V line. His feeling was that if something could come along and hit the wire, it surely would. Pipe was cheap and made pulling the wire easy. Since the wire exited the house and entered the garage above ground level, we needed elbows anyhow so.....

I was thinking more along the lines of saving enough on pvc to buy a couple rounds...

I'm still in the hunt for a house with a 'suitable' garage. If I can't find anything by spring I guess I'll have to custom build. My being single means it'll probably be more garage than home. I'm thinking about a 50x80 building with a breezeway in the middle, like this > http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/Beav/5431.JPG
Nothing too elaborate and easy to maintain... Until then I'll remain jealous - I desperately need a garage.

The PVC was relatively cheap; less than $20 for everyting we needed. It gives me the capability to run more lines, phone lines....whatever the future may call for. We had plenty left over for beer!

That house and garage is pretty cool! For re-sale you've got to add a third bedroom though. Just my $0.02.

Do my eyes deceive me, or is that three SVXs you have parked in the new garage??

Didn't realise you are single Beav, but the design has one noticable lack of feminine input. No bidet!

Nice design, though, sun room and den looks the bizz.

Joe

I agree, however if I decide to build it will probably be my last home, so the next occupant can worry about it then.

I think I've had almost enough feminine input for one lifetime. Of course, that's what I'm saying now, who knows what will happen...

Bidet? Hmm... I suppose I could lower the birdbath on the front lawn...

I wasn't planning on building in the 'burbs. I have a number of contacts/friends/acquaintances that have horse farms nearby and I figured I'd try to buy an acre or two in the woods. They usually have hunts on Wednesdays and Saturdays so we'd probably never see one another. It would also provide a good clientèle for some side biz.

Ninety percent of men kiss their wife goodbye when they leave the house. How ironic that the same ninety percent kiss their house goodbye when they leave their wife.
