Sad to say...

i traded my svx in a little over a week ago for a 98 grand cherokee limited 5.9L. i'm missing my "little black car"...not liking having to relearn driving...so i don't tip over the jeep. the svx was just breaking...i figured i would be better off trading it in to a dealer that had no clue. the tranny was starting to slip in high gear...and i had a 2-3 shift flare before i pulled the resistor. that coupled with the car's nature to have something break once a month was too much for me. lol...i just need to win the lottery so i can buy another svx...have money for when it breaks...get a downtown loft...get that nice plasma tv...oh, the dreams of a college student... but i'll be keeping up on the boards...

and on the subject of message boards...the jeep boards suck! both of the ones that i have been to. some of the people are just downright unfriendly and rude...they act like minor gods. added to that is just the lack of information...diagrams...and pictures... but maybe i was just spoiled by one of the best (IMHO) groups on the net! happy driving all!

Well Andrew,

It was fun while it lasted, wasnt it? I hope it was. Please dont be a stranger around here. We can help fill the void left by your svx.

Sorry to hear that, Andrew. Better luck with your Jeep. Bust your butt in school and pray you land a good job when you get out so you can buy a better SVX Or just buy a cheap SVX, invest enough to replace all the troubled items and then have a car as good as any new one for a fraction of the price.

Now I know what to do if my tranny starts going bad. Trade it in to a dealership. A hell of a lot easier than trying to sell to some nervous Nelly through the paper. Good luck with the Jeep. I'm sure it's damn fast being a 5.9 L.

Just out of curiousity, how many miles were on the SVX? What year was it and how much trade in did you get? What's the year of your Jeep and for how much did you pay for it?
If you don't mind me asking. If you do, then no worries.

It is damned fast...the previous owner did a couple mods to it already. Most noticably the turbo city rock-it tube...which is a dual k and n cone set up. I think he opened up the exhaust to 3 inches all the way too. All I know is that it goes 0-60 in under 7. I can't give an exact time, but me and my friends guess around 6.8 or 6.9...(this by just using a stopwatch...then later using the cd player) Let's just say I now enjoy making owners of hondas and acuras with aircraft wings cry their eyes out

As for the SVX, I think when I dropped it off the day I picked up my Jeep...as I came into the lot, I turned over 128,500. It was a 1992...I only got $1800 for it. And this was after they tried to tell me the best they could do was $500 (those @!#$#@$^@!#$%) lol Sticker price on the jeep was $18995...after trade in, I ended up paying $13500 before taxes and all that stuff. Got a new set of tires too...plus a 3 month/3000 mile limited warranty (of which I've driven 1300 miles of already). hehe It had 50k miles on it...which in my opinion, isn't all that bad.

ooooh...and it's almost completely debadged...all that is left is the V8 5.9 Litre on the tailgate. It's sexyyyyyyyyyy

How many miles were on the jeep? I just looked at one with 90,500 and it was $9,900. I have a 5.2 Grand Chreokee with 211,000 miles that doesnt work and i bet it's worthless.
