Christmas dash

Yesterday while driving back home, almost every light lit up all at the same time (power steering, brake, battery, abs, airbag...). Check engine is always on since I disconnected the tranny solenoid, so I can't say if I was flaged by any ECU diagnostic. When I reved up the engine, the lights would go, but then came back 5-10 seconds later. This morning, nothing, everything seems to be fine. I thought that might be a sign of the alternator signing off... what do you guys think? Have any of you had this happen before?

Re: Christmas dash

Yes, alternator. This has happened to both of mine.

Still, check belt tension and crank pulley condition before replacing.

Re: Christmas dash

Are Ebay's "brand new" replacement alternatives to be considered? Should I just have mine rebuilt, buy OEM new or look for a used low mileage OEM?

Re: Christmas dash

I used a mid-priced reman from Advance Auto Parts in both of mine (I think they offered 3), most recently just a few weeks ago. Cost was $190-something plus $65 core. Not in stock, but they had it for me within 24 hours.

Going on 2 years with this unit in my teal with no problems.
