The part number for the stock cup holder is 94510PA000. It may be discontinued. I emailed the dealer in Hawaii, who seems to have one in stock. Price was about $2.40.

Cup Holder

My approach was a little different. I mounted (bolted) one of those cell phone holders to the tranny tunnel and bolted on the top of it (after removing the phone holder) one of the tops of a regular cup holder. Works quite well and very stiff.

An approach to what I believe is the useless original cup holder. Kinda hard to retrive a drink at 60 - 70 MPH reaching behind you to get it....

the wonders of styrofoam

The owner of the 96 Polo Green LSi I just bought took a different approach. He cut a piece of styrofoam to fit into the console pocket and had two holes cut into the styrofoam to fit cups. He forgot to give it to me when the car was picked up but explained what he did when I asked him for the missing stock cupholder in a later email.

i use the Drink Master 2000. its a high tech beverage containment and distribution system (plastic helmet with two cupholders and tubing.) leaves hands free to operate the car - no fumbling around with your drink while you drive. the ladies think it looks good, too....

As much as I'd love to take credit for the wedgie, & collect those royalty checks, it wasn't discovered by me. In fact, I searched a local Wal-Mart, & couldn't find the wedgie. I have an odd-ball holder that folds up flat & hangs from the dash. I've never found another one quite like it. However, I'll let admirers glance upon it for only 50 cents admission at Lafayette.

Ron.

We discovered that the Wal-mart across the parking lot from the Homewood Suites/Hampton Inn
had about 9 wedgie cup holders in the auto department. After newsvx and I each bought one ($3.84) we spread the word and cleaned them out.

I,ve got the SKU number on the back and will see if my local wal-mart can get some
